2 Networking Technology Components: Architecture-Client Server Model, Packet Switching, Protocols-TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP and Others, LAN/WAN/Internet/WWW, Domains, IP Addresses, URLs. 
3 Internet Utilities, Into to Frontpage: Getting Started, Text, Backgrounds, Images, Lists, Hyperlinks, Navigation, Formatting, Publishing, Unix. Lab time for MS Frontpage. 
4 Researching the web using Search engines. SGML, HTML, XML, Frames, Info Architecture/Organizational Schemes 
5 Software Development Life Cycle, Web Architectures, Server Software. Mid Term Exam Review. 
6 Mid Term. eCommerce Business Models
7 E-Commerce Security: Threats, Solutions: Encryption, Public Key infrastructure, SSL, firewalls, proxy servers, protecting the web client. 
8 Payment Systems: General Types, Credit Cards, SET, Digital Payment systems in B2C, B2B Payment Systems/ 
9 Business Concepts of the Web: Marketing, demographics, brands, segmenting, targeting, Internet marketing technologies, strategies, research, communications 
10 Privacy & Information rights, intellectual property rights, trademarks, copyrights, patents. Ethical, social and political issues in eCommerce. 
11 Final Project Due
