Part I  Open up the template form found here.  Save the template to your local machine.  Modify it with MS Frontpage (or a text editor).  You must modify 1) The page title - replace <Your Name> with your name, 2) Replace <Your Name> in the right corner with your name, 3) Add a link to Part II of this assignment.  4) Create a directory in the Root Directory of your site using the format of your first and last initials and the last four (4) numbers in your DePaul ID.  Upload the template into that directory.  Create a directory structure as shown in class for each homework assignment (h1, h2, h3, etc).

Part II  Answer the following questions and definitions.  You can create a MS Word document for these and then save it as an html file.  This must be posted in the h1 directory and linked from your homework template page:

1) Define the following:  a) eCommerce, b) Business Processes, c) B2C, d) TCP/IP, e) Internet, f) Commodity.  Note that a complete definition for an acronym includes the words in the acronym and the definition.

2) List the seven unique features of eCommerce technology and give an example of each.  The example should be a specific case that would benefit the customer or the company.  (i.e.  User can access the internet in my car over my cell phone)

3) Which of the following business processes are well suited for eCommerce and which are not?  Explain and justify your answer based on the issues raised in the lecture:  a) Sale/purchase of custom-made gold/silver rings  b) Obtaining/offering personal counseling service c) Learning/teaching C++ programming

4)  Name three tasks that must be handled by a protocol.  Your answer should not be specific to any given protocol, but instead describe general tasks that a protocol may handle.

5)  Describe how packet switching operates and how it relates to the functions of TCP/IP.  Include the functions of both TCP and IP in your description.
