Group Deliverable 2 - Revised Schedule, Budget
Requirements. The Revised Project Plan must refine items 5 and 6. Whereas you have created a high level budget and schedule you must make it more detailed.
For the schedule, you must complete all of the activities in each of the phases. You must have at least 10 activities in each phase. You can use no more than 5 of the activities from the standard SDLC model. The other five have to be particular to the project and created from your group. Note, this is for the phases after the Concept phase. The concept phase is what you completed for the preliminary project plan.
For the schedule, you must link all of the tasks together in some form of precedence/concurrence relationship. You must determine any logical or other precedence relationships based on your particular project. Thus, in theory, you should be able to calculate a critical path through this model, however this is not required.
Your schedule must list all of the people resources for the project. Thus, you must come up with dollars per hour for each of the type of resources that you will be utilizing. You cannot just come up with an estimate, but must provide some research as to where those numbers came from. Thus, you must research on the internet the costs that these you could purchase these for. If you use some figure for internal people, you must provide some method for coming to those numbers. More on this will be given in class.
For the project budget, you must also estimate the costs of other software and hardware that you would need. You can easily find these costs from the various manufacturer sites or thru creative searching on the internet. To complete your bottom up budget, you can either use Microsoft project and inject the material resources into the schedules (preferred way), or you can take the hours off of the tasks and budget reports, import them into Excel, and add the material costs there.
Again, class time of approximately 1 hour per class will be allowed for the groups to work together. Remember, at each meeting, minutes must be kept and compiled. The form for submitting the minutes is here
Also, don't forget that each student must keep a journal of his/her activity on the project to be turned in separately at the end of the quarter by each student. The form for this is found here.
