Homework 2 - Microsoft Project I

This homework gives the student practice using the basic functions of Microsoft Project.
Requirements

1) Create a new project in MS Project 2002 and name it 372ProjectI 

2)  Set the starting date to be 1/20/2003.

3) Create an an activity for each of the Phases of the SDLC that we are using in the class, namely:  Concept, Requirements, Analysis/Design, Development, Test and Implementation. Mark each of these high level tasks as a Milestone in Project. 

4)  Create a resource for each of the team members listed in the lecture 3 notes, namely:  Project Manager (PM), Business Lead (BL), Customer Experience Lead (CE), Tech Lead (TL), Infrastructure Lead (IL), Test Lead (QA), Risk/Security Lead (RSL).

5) Set the resource type of each of the above to Work, set the initials to those in parenthesis in 4) and set the Standard Rate for each of the resources as follows:

  1. Project Manager - $125/hour
  2. Business & Customer Experience Lead - $140/hour
  3. Tech and Infrastructure Lead  - $150/hour
  4. Test Lead and Risk/Security Lead - $130/hour

6) Under the Concept Milestone, add all of the activities listed under the Lecture 3 slide notes, slide 4.  Do not worry about dates or durations, we will be adding these in the next homework section using this same file.  Note, that these activities should be indented to denote that they are part of the Concept Phase milestone.  There should be an activity for each of the boxes on this slide (29).

7) Assign the resources to each of the tasks in 6) using the same slide 4 from the lecture notes.

You must eMail me the completed spreadsheet before midnight on Monday, January 27th.
